Pension
Two members of the Executive Committee represent AFSM at each meeting of the WHO Pension Committee and report back to the Executive Committee. New developments and important issues are brought to the attention of former staff through the Quarterly News.

Staff Health Insurance
We provide assistance to all AFSM members who request our help with problems related to WHO Staff Health Insurance (SHI). We are in regular contact with the SHI Administration as well as with the retired staff representatives elected on the SHI global management committees. Our members will also find in the Quarterly News bulletin information on any developments of major interest to retired staff.
In collaboration with the WHO Staff Association and Medical Service, AFSM makes arrangements for free-of-charge seasonal influenza vaccinations for all former staff living in the Geneva region.

History matters
The work and life stories of WHO former staff constitute a large part of the history of WHO and its unique contribution to global public health. Since 2008, the AFSM’s oral history project “Remembering the past” has been capturing the narrative memories of former WHO staff. These historical texts are kept in the WHO archives. All former staff are welcome to participate. For more information: afsm_aoms@who.int.
AFSM works closely with the archivists at WHO.
