Dr Allisyn Moran

Unit Head, Maternal Health Unit

Biography

Allisyn Moran heads the Maternal Health Unit in the Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Ageing (MCA). She has over 20 years of experience in applied and operations research, program monitoring and evaluation, and translation of research findings to policy initiatives in reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health.

Prior to joining WHO in Geneva in 2017, she had worked with the Bureau for Global Health at USAID/Washington and USAID/Nigeria, Save the Children, JHPIEGO, icddr,b and Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

Allisyn Moran holds a doctor of philosophy and a master's degree in health sciences from Johns Hopkins University, where she focused on researching women’s access to and use of health services in low- and middle-income countries and international public health. She has extensive field experience in over 15 countries worldwide including long-term residence and work in Bangladesh, Nigeria and Morocco.
