Focal Point for Nursing and Midwifery

Biography

Dr Carey McCarthy joined WHO in 2018 and is currently the focal point for nursing and midwifery.

She is a Registered Nurse (USA) with a Master’s degree in Public Health and a PhD in Nursing and Global Health.

Her prior work includes positions with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Doctors without Borders, and the International Medical Corps.
