Dr Ameena Goga

Ameena is a paediatrician and joined the Department in May 2022.  Prior to this, she was  Director of the HIV and other Infectious Diseases Research Unit at the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) (2019-2022)),  co-Director of the KwaZulu Natal Clinical Trials Unit (2020-2022),  and Deputy Director of the Health Systems Research Unit, SAMRC (2016-2019).  She has authored more than 125 peer reviewed publications and 25 technical reports / policy briefs / book chapters.
