Biography

Public health expert with interest in neglected tropical diseases from policy development, field implementation, programme management and operational research. Both country and international experience. With strong leadership, teamwork and managerial skills, able to coordinate multidisciplinary teams of to achieve results. Worked with a number of endemic countries, non-governmental organizations and research institutions to accomplish key public health landmarks particularly in Buruli ulcer and yaws. Additional areas of interest include morbidity management and disability prevention of NTDs, integrated control of neglected skin diseases and district health system.

• Leading, managing, directing, and facilitating smooth and effective functioning of the WHO Global Buruli Ulcer Initiative, with responsibility to coordinate global control and research.
• Providing expert advice to national programmes and all stakeholders.
• Developing technical documents, information and training materials to support endemic countries to formulate and implement control activities.
• Coordinating the implementation operational research and translating of results into control policies.
• Advocating and raising funds for the control and research of Buruli ulcer
