Edgardo D. Rolla
Biography
Edgardo D. Rolla graduated as a Medical Doctor (Médico) at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine. He later was Intern, ObGyn Resident and Chief of Residents at the Hospital Escuela José de San Martín of the University of Buenos Aires.
In the 80s´ he rotated at this Hospital in the Reproductive Endocrinology and Adolescent Gynecology units. At the same time, in private practice, he delivered more than 3.000 babies along that period.
Having performed his first laparoscopy in the year 1975, and his first IVF procedure in the year 1991, along the 90s´ he trained as a Reproductive Medicine Specialist and Laparoscopic Surgeon in the private area (CEGYR and several private clinics). He regularly attended courses and congresses, both national and international, related to infertility and laparoscopic surgery.
He is a Founding Member of the World Endometriosis Society, a long-time member of ASRM and AAGL, and a Founding Member of the Sociedad Argentina de Endometriosis and an early member of the Sociedad Argentina de Cirugía Ginecológica. He is also a member of the Sociedad de Obstetricia y Ginecologia de Bs. As. (Ciudad) – SOGIBA, the Sociedad de Obstetricia y Ginecología (Provincia) de Bs. AS. – SOGBA, and the Sociedad Argentina de Medicina Reproductiva. In them, past member of the Scientific Committee, Psychosocial Department; and currently at SOGBA Member of the Board. He is Past President of the local endometriosis society and past member of the board of the surgical society. In the past, he was also a member of the Argentinian Osteoporosis Society, Adolescent Gynecology Society, Reproductive Endocrinology Society and Menopause Society. He is currently Ambassador for the World Endometriosis Society.
To note that during 2020 he was a member of the Ethics Committee at AAGL (American Society of Gynecological Laparoscopists).
He is peer reviewer for Faculty Opinions and occasionally other international online journals, in the area of Endometriosis. He holds a Cureus status and is listed in ORCID.
He has been Sub Investigator and Principal Investigator for fertility, contraception, and endometriosis drugs at different clinical trials ( Merck Serono, Organon, MSD, AbbVie, Repros and Myovant) since 1998 (ongoing - finishing Relugolix trial).
He is a Certified Reproductive Medicine and Laparoscopic Surgery Specialist.
