Eileen Yam
Biography
Dr Eileen Yam is director of science and society research at Pew Research Center, where she oversees the Center’s efforts to understand the public’s views on emerging scientific developments and issues that affect our society and lives.
Prior to joining the Center, she spent two decades conducting social science and public health research in more than 20 countries with the Population Council, International Center for Research on Women, Abt Associates, and Mathematica. Her qualitative and quantitative research experience spans public opinion surveys, implementation science, behavioral surveillance, user experience (UX) research, and news content analysis, with a focus on HIV, family planning, gender, race and ethnicity, and youth.
Dr Yam has served as a review editor for Frontiers in Reproductive Health. She holds a doctorate from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, a master of public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Yale University.
