George Makasare

Biography

Mr. George Makasare, is Chief Executive Officer of LSFI. He is an internationally trained master trainer, an acclaimed lifesaving professional and educationist. Mr. Makasare started his career as a lifeguard and coach for several award winning swimmers. In the past 19 years Mr. Makasare has , been a practicing lifeguard, swimming coach & community development evangelist.

Employed as General Manager in a very large Beach lifeguarding service for state of Goa for 3 years, he was responsible for staff selection, training, certification, deployment, quality control and interaction with the public.

Employed for several years as General Manager Operations, responsible for the core operations team managing national lifesaving activities from Headquarters in Pune.

Educator and Swimming Coach. - He has designed, developed and managed innovative programmes to teach children and adults how to swim. Mr. Makasare has also developed training curriculums for swim coaches and life guard professionals; having trained several thousand people till date and facilitated their employment and progress in meaningful careers.

Mr. Makasare also is an advisor to various safety and rescue equipment manufacturers to provide user expertise and feedback on lifesaving, sporting and rescue equipment design and deployment.

Mr. Makasare has excellent expertise and experience to manage NGO and Government relationships – and set up and managed lifeguard services. He has excellent working and professional relationships with international parties and experts in Beach economy, community development and enhancement.

Mr. Makasare has been pivotal in developing and delivering programmes that have made dynamic changes in people’s lives, building expertise and capacity in young people to save their own lives and the lives of others. Mr. Makasare has also served as a mentor to young lifeguards from slum communities; providing them with guidance, coaching and exam preparedness sessions to gain a professional qualification and gain regular, formal and paid employment.
