Grace Gatera

Grace Gatera is a lived experience mental health advocate, living in Kigali, Rwanda. She is a Wellcome Lived Experience Consultant, a youth leader with UNICEF Leading Minds, and is also a member of My Mind Our Humanity, a campaign for the Lancet Commission on Global Mental Health and Sustainable Development.

Grace is passionate about youth access to mental health care as well as lived experience’s role in creating a more knowledgeable and equitable mental health future. Grace’s recent work has included a focus on participation, including collaborating on a study to identify pathways for young people’s participation in promoting mental and well-being in low- and middle-income countries.
