Leonora Nusblat

Biography

Leonora Nusblat is a Biochemist with master's degree in molecular microbiology and biosafety project management, as well as a postgraduate diploma in international security, disarmament and non-proliferation. In addition to working for ten years in pharmacy quality control, she has been spent the last twenty-three years at the National Administration of Laboratories and Institutes of Health (ANLIS), under the Ministry of Health in Argentina, and since 2008 she has worked at the ANLIS Biocontainment Unit (UOCCB). Nusblat became senior manager of the unit in 2015, whose purpose is to strengthen a culture of biosafety, biosecurity and biorisk management. 

Nusblat is a member of the Subcommittee of Biosafety and Biosecurity at the Argentinean Association of Microbiology (AAM) and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA). She is a reviewer of the Minimum Operational Standards (MOS) for Rapid Response Mobile Laboratories (RRMLs) at the Public Health Laboratory Strengthening unit of the WHO.
