Marzia Lazzerini
Biography
Prof Marzia Lazzerini has research and field experience in maternal and child health in over 30 countries, particularly in Africa, Central Asia, South East Asia and Latin America. She has been collaborating closely with WHO since 1996 and has been directing a WHO Collaborating Centre for Maternal and Child Health since 2011.
She has contributed to over 40 WHO products related to MNCAH, including: WHO manuals, WHO guidelines, Standards of care, tools to assess the quality of maternal and newborn care. She is author of over 190 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and academic editor in two scientific journals. Her actual main area of interest in maternal, newborn and child international health is quality of care and quality and use of data.
Beside MONITOR, she is currently a member of the Child Health Accountability Tracking Technical Advisory Group (CHAT) and the Life Course Quality-of-Care Metrics Technical Working Group.
