Rania Kawar

Biography

Ms Rania Kawar joined WHO in 1997 and has directly supported WHO at its two levels (i.e. regional and headquarters).

Currently she provides executive support on technical and programmatic health workforce matters, in the Office of the Director of the Health Workforce Department. Her work has encompassed a number of technical areas at WHO, including nutrition, noncommunicable diseases and chronic care, and health system strengthening. In the area of health system strengthening, Rania has supported processes related to strategic planning, aid effectiveness, service delivery, and health workforce.

Before joining WHO, Rania worked with USAID and nongovernmental organizations in Jordan and Zimbabwe. She holds a master's degree in nutrition science and policy.
