Sunil Mehra

Dr. Sunil Mehra, MD is a practicing pediatrician and founder & Executive Director of MAMTA- Health Institute for Mother and Child, New Delhi (India). MAMTA came together with the vision to bring comprehensive and inclusive development in the Indian subcontinent through improving community health while strengthening systems and policies for adolescents and young people, besides other public health domains. For the last 3 decades; in his leadership, MAMTA has undertaken, evidence generation, policy review, policy level advocacy, and capacity building of policymakers, service providers, and key stakeholders in India and South & Southeast Asia. At present, he leads an enormous team of more than 800 that includes multidisciplinary teams. He received IAAH Founder’s Award for outstanding lifetime achievement in advancing the health of adolescents, at regional and global level, in 2017. In 2019, Honoured by their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden with the Royal Order of Seraphim & the Royal Order of Polar Star for his outstanding contribution in the field of health and strengthening Indo-Swedish collaboration.
