Biography

Tamrat lives in Ontario, Canada, with his family: 3 boys and his wife. Raised and educated in Ethiopia, he also attended his advanced studies with institutions in the US and South Africa. Tamrat is an international development professional with extensive research, monitoring and evaluation competencies built with over 20+ years of progressive and rich fieldwork experience.

He lived and worked in 6 Counties with local and global roles. As a result, he engaged with programs and fieldwork in over 35 Countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Canada. Tamrat conducted measurement and evaluations involving diverse sectors, particularly adolescent agency, resilience and vulnerability, and child wellbeing frameworks across diverse country contexts. He also conducted multi-country measurements involving the validation and application of psychometric instruments.

His recent focus is the application of structural equation modeling and discriminant analysis to validate and refine Plan Canada’s Gender Equality Measurement Framework, particularly focusing on Adolescent Girls’ Agency and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.
