Tapas Nair
Biography
Dr Tapas Nair joined WHO in March 2021 as Technical Officer in the Data, Evidence and Knowledge Management unit in the Health Workforce Department. In this role, he primarily supports the progressive implementation of the National Health Workforce Accounts (NHWA), and the analysis and utilization of health workforce data for evidence generation and policy advocacy.
Tapas Nair earned his MD in Community Medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi and his MBBS from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry.
He has previously worked for five years at the national level in India – at the Ministry of Health and at various development partners – and has technical expertise in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of projects in polio surveillance, immunization, maternal newborn and child health, health systems strengthening, noncommunicable diseases, and COVID-19 response.Contact: tnair@who.int
