Monitoring regional and country progress towards the elimination of onchocerciasis transmission

WHO monitors overall progress in each region and country as well as reports on country achievements. Progress is evaluated through the data that onchocerciasis‐endemic countries submit each year in the Joint Application Package (JAP). This includes data on the number of people treated during MDA by implementation unit and on the results of mapping and impact evaluation surveys conducted during the reporting year or earlier.

The data are published in the Weekly Epidemiological Record and in the Global Health Observatory. Data and publications on progress towards elimination are available below:
