Overview
Coordination and Leadership
In January, the WHO-led Health Sector held coordination meetings at Cox's Bazar(1), Upazila (2), and Camp levels (33). These meetings updated health partners on the general situation, Joint Response Plan (JRP) 2025, epidemiology, disease surveillance (e.g., dengue, cholera), routine Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), Acute Flaccid Paralysis( AFP) and Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPD) surveillance, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), community health, Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR), and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities. A review and feedback meeting was held with camp health focal points to enhance coordination and provide strategic and technical guidance for improved healthcare delivery. These efforts align with the JRP 2025's Strategic Objectives 1, 2, and 3. Several Technical Working Group meetings were held on MHPSS, RCCE, SRH, EPI, and Community Health Workers.
WHO maintained its leadership role by actively coordinating the health response. On January 30, 2025, the Health Sector organised a workshop to introduce the updated Minimum Package of Essential Health Services (MPEHS) to partners working in Rohingya camps, Cox’s Bazar. The session aimed to familiarise participants with the revised MPEHS, highlight key updates from the previous version and clarify their roles in its implementation to ensure high-quality care in primary and secondary healthcare facilities. A total of 62 participants from 37 Health Sector partners attended the workshop.
