All health-care facilities registered for SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands have received a special invite by WHO to participate in this global survey and to submit their Hand Hygiene Self-Assessment Framework results.

Announcing the WHO Hand Hygiene Self-Assessment Framework Global Survey for 2015!

Arrange a hand sanitizing relay in your organization and even try to break the world record! - between now and 5 September 2015

We would like you to tell us if you are organising a hand sanitizing relay in support of the WHO 5 May 2015 call to action. We will use your contact information to provide more instructions for you and for Professor Didier Pittet to send you a congratulatory message upon completion of your relay. We will report on the number of hospitals around the world undertaking sanitizing relays but the name of your hospital will be kept confidential. It will take 1 minute for you to complete the requested information!

The hand sanitizing relay work is being led by the WHO Collaborating Centre (WCC) on Patient Safety (Infection Control and Improving Practices) at University Hospitals Geneva. Find brief instructions on how to do your hand sanitizing relay here - you can do your relay any time from now until September!

  • You can also take part in a pre and post relay global compliance project and even apply for a Guinness World Record through support from the WCC once you have completed the instruction form.
  • Challenge 10 other health-care facilities to undertake the hand sanitizing relay.

 

 

 

 

 

Use the WHO hand hygiene improvement approach

  • Use the suite of WHO improvement tools to support your progress against your Framework results or at any time. On this updated page you can find Template Action Plans to help you target your facility's actions.

Use all the WHO tools as part of the multimodal improvement strategy, to support the ongoing strengthening of health-care facilities and to demonstrate quality of care.

 

In 2015, the global reach for #safeHANDS was approx 39 million with photos shared and posted on social media from around the world! You can easily print it or download the WHO #safeHANDS promotional board to a tablet device.

  • Challenge 10 other health-care facilities to plan to take their photos with the promotional board.



Register with the SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands campaign now if you haven’t already and you are taking part in any of the activities

  • Ask 10 other health-care facilities to register their commitment.

Ask your Ministry of Health or a senior member in your country’s government to send us, or post on social media (incorporating #safeHANDS), a few lines on their commitment to clean hands in health care

  • Many have pledged to Clean Care is Safer Care over the last 10 years.
