Method of measurement
Data submitted by the national malaria control programmes (NMCPs) compiled by WHO. Presumed cases are reported from the outpatient register. Method of calculation: Prior to 2019 presumed cases were calculated by total malaria cases reported – confirmed malaria cases. From 2019 onwards the number of presumed cases were reported directly by countries and for previous years if retrospective data was submitted by countries.
