IA2030 aims to encourage strong political commitment for immunization at all levels. Vaccination laws or other legislation reported by countries as part of this indicator could include written laws or regulations, orders, or decrees established by public authorities and enforceable by law. Relevant legislation may be specialized for immunization or contained in other general public health legislation. Policies must consider securing financing for immunization programmes at all levels, including the purchase and timely availability of vaccines in accordance with national planning, training, supervision, outreach activities, and information systems.

Step 1: Calculate the indicator numerator.
Count the number of WHO Member States which reported that they had a vaccination law or other legislation that is supportive of immunization and commits the government to finance all aspects of the immunization programme at all levels. This equals the number of WHO Member States which responded 'Yes' to the relevant JRF question.
Step 2: Divide the indicator numerator by the total number of WHO Member States (denominator equals 194 WHO Member States).
