Introduction of new or underutilized vaccines in low- and middle-income countries. Global, regional, and country partners can use findings from this indicator to identify countries that are remaining to introduce WHO recommended vaccines in order to focus efforts to ensure equitable access to vaccines. The indicator will help to assess whether there are opportunities to support country vaccination introductions for new and underutilized vaccines. Further in-depth evaluation or root cause analysis could be considered to determine barriers to vaccine introduction for the countries that have not yet introduced WHO recommended vaccines.
Target: At least 500 cumulative vaccine introductions in low- and middle-income countries between 2021 and 2030 (including current new or under-utilized vaccines as well as vaccines that will be recommended over the decade)
