Youth4Health network
In 2023 WHO/Europe launched the Youth4Health network, its first-ever youth network on health and well-being. The network aims to be a platform for meaningful engagement with young people to ensure youth participation in all areas of WHO/Europe’s work.

The world currently has the largest generation of young people in history, with approximately 1.8 billion people between the ages of 10 and 24 years. In the WHO European Region, 1 in 3 people are below the age of 30. All too often young people are not heard or represented in decisions concerning their health and well-being.

The Youth4Health network aims to change this and to engage young people as equal partners.

Membership

Members of the network have different opportunities to engage with the WHO Regional Office for Europe through events, development of campaigns and publications, and could be invited to join collaboration groups on various health and well-being topics.

Admissions to the network are rolling. All youth organizations, organizations working in the youth space, Member State youth delegates, youth activists, people with an interest and experience in health and well-being, and youth parliamentarians are encouraged to apply if they are:

  • based in the WHO European Region; and
  • between the ages of 10 and 30 years.

Objectives

The Youth4Health network aims to:

  • highlight issues that affect youth;
  • increase and strengthen engagement with young people in the WHO European Region to support WHO/Europe’s determination to leave no one behind, by granting opportunities for direct input to programmatic work, operations, events and participation in the WHO Regional Committee for Europe;
  • strengthen networking and knowledge sharing among different stakeholders; and
  • communicate effectively about the work of WHO/Europe pertaining to youth.
