Subregional workshop on securing access to affordable vaccine supply in middle- income Member States in the WHO European Region

11 – 13 February 2026

Middle-income countries and territories are lagging behind on the introduction of new vaccines, such as against human papillomavirus, pneumococcal disease, and rotavirus. Improving their access to new vaccines is a multidimensional challenge, fuelled by a changing vaccine market, vaccine supply shortages, and inconsistent vaccine pricing. Technical assistance is required to access, understand and use available vaccine market information, as well as to identify potential barriers and adopt strategic approaches to secure access to affordable vaccines.

The aim of this subregional workshop is to strengthen national capacities to secure timely and uninterrupted access to quality-assured vaccines at affordable prices by implementing strategic and agile approaches – from immunization policy and strategy planning to product choice, market authorization, procurement, and distribution – based on evidence and vaccine market knowledge.

The workshop will be attended by experts from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Kosovo[1], as well as partner agencies.
