Unlocking insights, building capacities, and forging ahead: forum on risk communication, community engagement, and infodemic management: meeting report: 5-7 December 2023, Copenhagen, Denmark

Overview

This report details the forum on risk communication, community engagement, and infodemic management (‎RCCE-IM)‎ hosted by the WHO Regional Office for Europe in Skodsborg, Copenhagen from 5–7 December 2023. Under the theme “Unlocking Insights, Building Capacities, and Forging Ahead”, the forum introduced the RCCE-IM Capability Mapping Tool and the RCCE-IM Plan Creator to enhance professional skills and support detailed planning. A new RCCE-IM community of practice was suggested to foster collaboration among European nations. Discussions involving national health authorities, partners, and international experts focused on strategic actions to strengthen RCCE-IM as a critical public health intervention. The recommendations from the forum emphasize enhancing national capacities, developing robust networks, and creating comprehensive communication strategies to ensure the effective management of future health emergencies in the WHO European Region.
