SDG 11.6.2 Working Group
About us
The SDG 11.6.2 Working Group was convened by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021.
Recognizing that interinstitutional work and cooperation across different UN agencies are crucial to effectively monitoring and reporting of SDG 11.6.2 and addressing air pollution trajectories in the post 2030 era, this Working Group is a collaboration between UN agencies involved in air pollution and experts from the WHO Global Air Pollution and Health – Technical Advisory Group (GAPH‐TAG) to discuss specific issues related to the indicator reporting as well as support the development of tools and guidance documents for this indicator.
Roles and responsibilities:
- To advise on the setting of a baseline year, target and trajectory for SDG 11.6.2 with consideration given to the integration of the new WHO AQG as a post-2030 target.
- To develop an air quality management tool (e.g., checklist, survey) to monitor country progress in collecting local air pollution data that could be incorporated into to the SDG 11.6.2 reporting.
- To identify UN guidance documents that can be consolidated into a repository to complement the SDG11.6.2 tool..
- To support discussions on the conceptualization of a post 2030 air pollution indicator.
