Implementation of Decision WHA72(12)

At the Seventy-Second World Health Assembly in May 2019, Member States adopted Decision WHA72(12), which made a number of requests to the Director-General related to, among other things, influenza virus sharing, raising awareness of the PIP Framework, and the Standard Material Transfer Agreement 2 (SMTA2). This page provides information on implementation of this Decision.

     

Reports Requested under Decision WHA72(12)

WHO has prepared three reports to implement different elements of decision WHA72(12):

  • Report on influenza virus sharing (OP1(a))
  • Report on legislative and regulatory measures related to influenza (OP1(b))
  • Report on the search engine, raising awareness of the PIP Framework, and new technologies (OP1(c), (d) and (e))

Comments to Reports Requested under Decision WHA72(12)

 

Four sets of comments were received in response to the invitation for public comment. Three respondents agreed that their responses could be shared publicly and their comments are posted below.
