The Technical Advisory Group meeting on the Asia Pacific Strategy for Emerging Diseases (APSED TAG meeting) is taking place virtually during 19-21 July 2022, with representatives participating from the Ministry of Health, National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD), National Center for Zoonotic Diseases, National Center for Public Health, National Emergency Management Agency, Mongolian Customs General Administration, General Agency for Specialized Investigation and World Health Organization.
The yearly APSED TAG meeting sets the direction of future actions concerning emerging diseases and public health emergencies and develops guidelines relating to them. For this year’s meeting, discussions were held concerning strategy implementation, experiences, learnings, and opportunities for cooperation between SEARO and WPRO as well as the delivery of a presentation on Mongolia’s health care pathway during the COVID-19 community transmission stage by Dr. Bilegtsaikhan, General Director of the NCCD and Mongolia’s National Focal Point of the International Health Regulations.
