APSED III TAG 2020 meeting

The meeting of the Biregional Technical Advisory Group on the Asia Pacific Strategy for Emerging Diseases and Public Health Emergencies (APSED III): Advancing Implementation of the International Health Regulations (2005) is taking  place on 29-31 July.

The meeting organized virtually among member states of the WHO South-East Asia and WHO Western Pacific facilitates countries to share experience and lessons learnt in response measures to the COVID-19 pandemic with an aim to make recommendations on common priority actions to strengthen health security systems in the context of COVID-19 and prepare for future health security threats.

From Mongolia representatives from the Ministry of Health, City Health Department, National Center for Communicable Disease, National Center of Zoonotic Disease, National Center of Public Health, General Agency for State Inspection, National Emergency Management Agency and WHO participating in the meeting. Dr T.Enkhzaya, Head of the Department of Public Health, and Dr D.Nyamkhuu, Director of the NCCD, shared Mongolia’s experience in multisource surveillance. Based on country experience, challenges and lessons identified in the COVID-19 response, participants will contribute to the conclusion and recommendations that will be produced as a result of the meeting.  

Participants in the APSED III TAG 2020 meeting are updating the country’s preparedness and response plan in the light of recent developments and preparation for the upcoming influenza season.
