As part of initiatives to address health workforce challenges that hamper the African Region, the World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with partners and Member States, have developed a draft “African health workforce investment charter” that will help to align and stimulate investments to halve inequities in access to health workers, especially in African countries that have the most significant shortages.
The official launch of the African health workforce investment charter is planned to take place at the inaugural High-Level African Health Workforce Investment Forum in late 2023.
Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on the draft charter before 15th September 2023.
