Call for Expressions of Interest: Technical Advisory Group on Education for Public Health and Emergency Workforce Roadmap

30 November 2022
Call for experts

In May 2022, WHO and partners published the Roadmap, National workforce capacity to implement the essential public health functions (EPHFs) including a focus on emergency preparedness and response: roadmap for aligning WHO and partner contributions.

The Roadmap is oriented towards three interlinked priority action areas: defining the EPHFs and their sub-functions, strengthening competency‐based education of the public health workforce, and mapping and measurement of the public health workforce.

Competency and Outcomes Framework for the Public Health and Emergency Workforce provides the foundations towards Action Area 2: strengthening competency‐based education and training towards the provision of the EPHFs. The framework will set out the competencies and practice activities of the broader health workforce, i.e. the tasks and practice activities towards the EPHFs that can be delivered by individual health workers defined in terms of units of health practice; and the competencies of the individual to provide them, as well as guidance to strengthen competency‐based education programmes oriented to these competency‐based outcomes.

The Advisory Group (the “AG”) will act as an advisory body to WHO in this field.
