The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking experts to serve as members one of the Technical Advisory Group on the global community health worker prototype curricula. This Call for Experts provides information about the advisory group to be formed, the expert profiles sought, the expression of interest process and the selection process.
In 2018, WHO launched the first ever Guideline on health policy and system support to optimize community health worker programmes (CHW guideline) to assist national governments, and their partners, to improve the design, implementation, performance and evaluation of community health worker (CHW) programmes. Subsequently, the Seventy-second World Health Assembly adopted Community health workers delivering primary health care: opportunities and challenges. Ensuing efforts to disseminate, advocate for, implement and measure CHW programme strengthening, including through the Global Health Workforce CHW Hub, have resulted in uptake of coherent, evidence-based action at national and subnational levels. Several derivative products of the CHW guideline have since followed, and WHO is now developing a global CHW prototype curriculum. The prototype curriculum is intended to support Member States to progressively develop their community health workforce to help cushion the shortage of health and care workers globally, and to enhance access to essential health services.

- To review, comment and/or participate in interviews regarding the information and evidence used to inform the development of the CHW prototype curricula;
- To provide inputs on the final CHW prototype curricula prepared by WHO.
