Invitation for public comments from civil society and community representatives

SDG3 GAP monitoring framework

3 March 2021
Call for consultation

Objective and outcome of the call for feedback

In 2019, 12 global health and development organizations agreed the Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All focused on accelerating progress towards health-related SDG targets through closer collaboration. As part of the “account” commitment within that plan, the agencies are currently seeking to establish a monitoring framework based on an agreed theory of change.  A key part of that framework is a consultation process in which country stakeholders are asked to comment on the extent to which countries are receiving better coordinated and more effective support that is better aligned with national priorities.

The agencies would like to include civil society feedback in that process and are interested to receive input and advice from civil society and community representatives as to how that might be done. At the moment, the idea is that national governments, in-country civil society and the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) would each be asked to complete a simple questionnaire (probably annually). A draft questionnaire is included in Annex 2 of the draft monitoring framework document (p.17 – first four questions only).
