The Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) is a global forum to
discuss high priority global health issues. This year, the theme of the
conference is ‘Priority Setting for Universal Health Coverage’. The WHO
Department of Service Delivery & Safety (SDS) is contributing to
this important global dialogue by participating in this year's PMAC
2016. This includes collaborating with key stakeholders to organize a
side event at PMAC.
This year SDS is collaborating with PMAC and the Healthcare Accreditation Institute Thailand in organizing a side meeting titled ‘Universal Health Coverage & Quality: Ensuring quality care for all! Part II’, which builds on last year’s PMAC event.
This year’s event will include a diverse country panel to set the scene for participants. A World Café during the session will allow active participation from those present as well as capture thinking from across the world. With the new unit on Universal Health Coverage & Quality now established at WHO, this area of work has a dedicated team integrating various technical elements, all designed to support countries in their efforts to place quality within the fabric of UHC. The session explores perspectives from different countries based on multiple factors that all affect the degree to which quality health services are delivered. This information, along with audience participation, will collectively inform evolving global work. The opportunity for shared learning will also be explored utilizing a learning laboratory model, which engages audiences from a range of disciplines and backgrounds under the common interest of improving the quality of care for all!
