The inaugural Facilitation Council of the Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator (ACT-A) is meeting at 12:30 to 14:30 CEST (Geneva time) on 10 September 2020. The first 30 mins of opening statements will be live-streamed here and the remainder of the proceedings closed.
This meeting aims to provide high-level political
leadership and enabling advice to facilitate the work of the Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator, its global collaborative framework and its partnerships to ensure the realization of the ACT-A vision.
The vision is for rapid development, scale-up and equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics, underpinned by relevant strengthening of health systems. The advice of the Council will include advocacy for collective approaches to solutions in the global interest and for the mobilization of additional resources as needed.
WHO will host its regular COVID-19 virtual press conference at 16:00 CEST on 10 September.
