Introduction:

Digital technologies are revolutionising healthcare and offer an unprecedented opportunity to transform the healthcare sector and stimulate healthy socio-economic growth. We believe that these technologies can be most effectively used if we could together build a global digital health community around it. A community which will come together to prioritize resources in areas of most need, share best practices, help build capacity, accelerate and adopt digital health solutions at all levels.

There is a need for reform and a need to focus on what matters. There is also a need for acceleration of digital transformation in the healthcare sector. This calls for committed players from different stakeholder communities who can move this forward.

As the COVID-19 Pandemic and Global Health Emergency continues to spread at various rates around the globe, it becomes more important than ever for us to collaborate and come together.

The purpose of this side event is to discuss how we can bring together the global digital health community to collaborate and engage in the prioritization, adoption and acceleration of digital health technologies.

Key objectives of the discussions at this side event are to:

  • Present the WHO vision for digital health by building the Global Digital Health Community together with key stakeholders
  • Bring together a global digital health community to work together in the prioritization, adoption and acceleration of digital health technologies
  • Commit to a global effort to contribute to and invest in the Global Digital Health Ecosystem
