The time to act is now: preparing for the next pandemic today
In March 2021, more than 26 heads of state and government issued a call urging the international community to work together “towards a new international treaty for pandemic preparedness and response” to build a more robust global health architecture that will protect future generations. A high-level panel will discuss the added value of a potential treaty and why action must be taken now, while we are still in the process of controlling the current pandemic.

Primary Health Care for Universal Health Coverage: from UN commitments to country implementation
In 2019, heads of state and government made commitments at the United Nations General Assembly on targets for universal health coverage. This high-level panel will discuss progress and challenges in fulfilling these commitments and how to accelerate progress in countries, in light of setbacks caused by and lessons learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic.
