- To explain the AWaRe classification of antibiotics, its relationship to antibiotic stewardship and the WHO EML antibiotic book.
- Outline how the WHO EML antibiotic book was developed.
- Provide examples on how the WHO EML antibiotic book could be used at the national / local level both in primary health and hospital care.
- Clarify the key role of Access antibiotics or a “no antibiotic prescription” strategy for the majority of infections in the primary health care setting.
