Topic: Open session day – 4th SAGE IVD meeting

Language: English

WHO launched the first edition of the Model List of Essential In Vitro Diagnostics (EDL) in May 2018. This was followed by two further editions, in 2019 and  2021.

The goal of the EDL is to help countries advance UHC, address health emergencies and promote healthier populations by supporting IVD policy development to improve people access to IVD testing and clinical laboratory services.

The Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on In Vitro Diagnostics (SAGE IVD) will hold its fourth meeting from 14 – 18 November 2022 in a virtual format. On the first day of the meeting, the EDL Secretariat has planned for an Open Session in the format of a Webinar.  Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions and comments through Zoom's "Q&A" feature during the Q&A session.  The language of the webinar will be English.

The main objectives of this 2022 SAGE IVD meeting will be to provide recommendations for the next edition of the WHO Model List of Essential In vitro Diagnostics (the EDL 4) and to review progress on the development of national EDLs.
