WHO at the sixty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67)

6 – 17 March 2023

The World Health Organization (WHO) will participate in the sixty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67), which will take place from 6 to 17 March 2023 at the United Nations Headquarters (UN HQ) in New York, United States of America. 

The CSW67 will be held under the priority theme “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.”   

This year, WHO will hold two events at CSW67: 

1. Improving the health of women through digital innovation, technology and education 

A flagship side event co-organized with the Republics of Chile and Rwanda will take place on Tuesday, 7 March at 08.15 EST (14.15 CET) at the UN HQ, Conference Room 8.   

Speakers will discuss the role of digital innovation, technology and education in improving health outcomes for women and girls, especially those who experience compounding barriers to health and well-being.

2. Gender equity and rights in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases: the role of digital health 

The event, co-organized with the Republics of Liberia and Gambia, will take place on Monday, 6 March at 18:30 EST (00.30 CET) at the UN HQ, Conference Room 8. 

Participants will discuss the relevance of digital health interventions in the context of non-communicable diseases and the importance of ensuring women’s meaningful use of digital technologies.
