At the 28th Tripartite Executive Annual Meeting (TEAM28) in March 2022, a new Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the principals of the four organizations, expanding the Tripartite – consisting of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) – to form the Quadripartite, with the inclusion of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Following the TEAM28, WHO assumed the Chair of the Quadripartite and committed to further strengthen efforts in One Health, together with the Quadripartite partners, as per the agreements and actions from the TEAM28.
As part of their chairmanship, WHO is organizing the 1st Quadripartite Executive Annual Meeting on 27-28 March 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The purpose of this meeting is to review the progress since the TEAM28, highlighting the key achievements of the Quadripartite and review the on-going activities. The meeting will seek to gain the approval of the Principals of the Quadripartite organizations for these activities and identify the key agreements and actions for the Quadripartite going forward.
The meeting will be attended in-person by the four Principles of the Quadripartite organizations. It will start with an opening discussion between the four Principals to discuss pressing topics related to One Health and the Quadripartite collaboration, which will then be followed by:

- Opening session – WHO Director General's strategic vision and direction
- Quadripartite collaboration – progress 2022-23
- Implementation guide of One Health Joint Plan of Action
- One Health funding and finance
- Advocacy and communication activities
Day 2:
- One Health High-Level Expert Panel (OHHLEP)
- Evidence and knowledge for One Health
- Regional One Health governance and activities
- Transition from Tripartite to Quadripartite
- Conclusions and recommendations
