World Hearing Forum members' web meeting

9 May 2023 08:00 – 18:00 UTC Time
Virtual meeting, WHO headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland

The World Hearing Forum (WHF) is a WHO-hosted global network of stakeholders promoting ear and hearing care worldwide and aims to promote and support the implementation of the 2017 World Health Assembly resolution WHA70.13 on the prevention of deafness and hearing loss.

With over 200 members, the forum drives a global advocacy initiative that provides a common platform and narrative for all stakeholders to collaborate and raise awareness about the need and means for ear and hearing care through its three working groups: (1) Make Listening Safe, (2) World Hearing Day, (3) Changemakers to achieve its advocacy goal.

Since the first membership assembly of the Forum in 2019, the members are regularly been meeting and engaged virtually to contribute to the vision of the Forum. In 2022, the core members of the forum met to revise the workplan and plan the actions for the coming years.

A members' update meeting is important to ensure the communication of the forum members and their engagement and participation in the forum’s work.

Hence WHO will host a web meeting with members of the World Hearing Forum with the objectives to:

  1. Welcome new members
  2. Discuss ways in which members can strengthen their engagement with the forum’s activities
  3. Provide an administrative update
  4. Provide information about the next WHF membership assembly to be held in November/December 2023.

Date and time: 09 May 2023 from 0800–0930/1630–1800 CEST

Participation by invitation only
