Youth in Singapore are taking charge to remind the world that they have a role to play in cervical cancer elimination.
On 17 November, the Alliance for Active Action Against HPV (A4HPV) will host a spin cycling event at the Jewel – a well-known entertainment and retail complex – located in Changi Airport. The event aims to raise public awareness while encouraging advocates and partners to take “active” steps in contributing toward the elimination of cervical cancer in Singapore.
The Alliance for Active Action Against HPV (A4HPV) was established by young advocates, including Summer Ng – a cervical cancer survivor – in 2021. The group is formally established as a taskforce within the Commonwealth Youth Health Network (CYHN). The alliance collaborates closely with the International Taskforce on Cervical Cancer Elimination in the Commonwealth, launched by the Commonwealth Secretariat and Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
