Join us for a discussion on the WHO Alliance for Food Safety (the Alliance) – a newly formed network of WHO Collaborating Centres and other partners dedicated to enhancing food safety worldwide. The event will showcase how the Alliance aims to drive collaboration, share knowledge, and coordinate efforts to implement the WHO Global Strategy for Food Safety 2022-2030 (WHO GSFS), with a special focus on foodborne disease surveillance and food contamination monitoring. Attendees will gain insights into the Alliance’s mission, vision, goals and objectives, which include: 1) Creating an enabling environment for multisectoral coordination in food safety surveillance and monitoring; 2) Advocating for strong legal frameworks supporting surveillance and monitoring efforts; 3) Building capacity in public health, animal health, and food safety laboratories; 4) Generating and sharing high-quality data and information; and 5) fostering an exchange of best practices and lessons learned across Alliance members.
