Seventh Global Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety 2025 "Weaving Strengths for the Future of Patient Safety Throughout the Healthcare Continuum"

3 – 4 April 2025
Manila, the Philippines

Global Ministerial Summits on Patient Safety have significantly contributed to raising awareness and driving the global patient safety movement. A key achievement was the adoption of WHA resolution (WHA72.6.)  on Global action on patient safety in May 2019, which catalyzed the development of the Global Patient Safety Action Plan 2021-2030. The plan establishes a strategic direction and proposes a framework of action for relevant stakeholders to support patient safety worldwide.

The 7th Global Ministerial Summit, organized by the Department of Health of the Republic of the Philippines and co-sponsored by WHO, will take place on 3-4 April 2025 in Manila. The theme for this event is "Weaving Strengths for the Future of Patient Safety Throughout the Healthcare Continuum."

In support of the Global Patient Safety Action Plan 2021-2030, the Summit will highlight the current progress and the key milestones to establish patient safety as a foundational pillar of resilient, people-centered and equitable health systems that deliver high-quality care and drive improved health outcomes. The summit will be a venue to share knowledge, discuss how to leverage best practices, and explore effective strategies to address key priority areas in patient safety.
