World Sepsis Congress: Sepsis Research and Innovation

The World Sepsis Congress 2025 features over 90 expert speakers, including leading clinicians, scientists, policymakers, sepsis survivors, and representatives from patient advocacy groups. These experts will share their insights and experiences on a wide range of topics, from the latest research on personalized medicine and innovative therapies to global strategies for infection prevention and sepsis care delivery. Additionally, discussions will explore how AI can be leveraged to diagnose sepsis early, providing a comprehensive overview of current advancements and future directions in sepsis management. 

Special attention will be given to the impact of climate change on infectious diseases, the rising threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and how combating sepsis aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) commitment to health equity and universal access to care. Two panel discussions will ensure that patients’ voices are heard, showcasing lessons from countries that are successfully reducing sepsis mortality through system change. This event promises to be a pivotal gathering for anyone involved in the fight against sepsis, offering valuable insights and fostering collaboration across various sectors.

WHO Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will provide the opening message, and WHO staff from Headquarters and WHO regions are presenting at various sessions.
