The WHO Expert Advisory Group (EAG) on the relevance and effectiveness of the WHO Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel will meet virtually on 16 May, in advance of the Seventy-eighth World Health Assembly. Two sessions will be held: the first from 09:00 - 10:30 CEST and the second from 16:00 - 17:30 CEST.
The Health Workforce team will update EAG members on the health workforce agenda at the Assembly and the planned regional consultations on the EAG interim report, as decided by the 156th WHO Executive Board.
The Seventy-eighth World Health Assembly marks the 15-year anniversary of the Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel (The Code’s) adoption. The consolidated report on the WHO Code includes reporting on implementation of The Code by a record 105 countries and also includes the findings and interim recommendations of the Third Expert Advisory Group, including Article 9.5 on the Code’s relevance, effectiveness and text.
