Walk the Talk: the Health for All Challenge

Walk the Talk New York has helped provide a healthy kickstart to the United Nations General Assembly and put the importance of health at the heart of this critically important gathering of countries of the world. Held in Central Park, the event has benefited from the healthy environs that New York City has to offer, and enjoyed the support of New York City authorities.

 

Walk the Talk New York 2023

The Walk the Talk: Health for All Challenge returned on Sunday, 17 September 2023 to Central Park, New York to provide a healthy kickstart to the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78) high-level week. Hosted by WHO and the New York City Mayor’s Office, and supported by a wide range of partners including the NYC Health Commission and the UHC Partnership, the second edition of the free Walk the Talk New York also celebrated WHO’s 75th anniversary this year, and provided an opportunity to promote solidarity and get people moving for physical and mental health.

 

Walk the Talk New York 2019

Thousands of people took part in the first ever WHO Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge, held 22 September 2019, in Central Park. The event was organized by WHO, the City of New York, and the United Nations. Special guests and speakers included the first lady of New York, Chirlane McCray, the Global Citizen movement, Grammy Award winning musician Ricky Kej, EU Health Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis, among others.
