Kazuaki Miyagishima
Director, Food Safety and Zoonoses Department, WHOKazuaki Miyagishima studied medicine and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tokyo. He received an international diploma of public administration from the Ecole nationale d’Administration, France, and a doctorate degree in medical sciences from Showa University, Japan. In 1998 he became Associate Professor for public health and health policy at Kyoto University, Japan.

Barbara B. Kowalcyk
Assistant Professor, Department of Food Science and Technology, Ohio State University, USABarbara B. Kowalcyk is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology and is affiliated with OSU’s Translational Data Analytics Institute, Global One Health initiative and College of Public Health. She has a Doctorate in Environmental Health with a focus in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Cincinnati, and is a recognized expert in food safety.

Rob Lake
Manager, Risk Assessment and Social Systems, Institute of Environmental Science and Research Limited, New ZealandRob Lake manages the Risk Assessment and Social Systems Team at ESR. This includes groups working on water and sanitation in the Pacific, drinking water in New Zealand, social systems, food safety risk assessment and analytical studies, and a drugs in wastewater programme. He is a member of the Science Leadership Team for the New Zealand Food Safety Science and Research Centre and the Management Team for One Health Aotearoa.
Delia Grace
Co-Leader, Animal and Human Health, International Livestock Research InstituteDelia Grace is an epidemiologist and veterinarian with more than 20 years’ experience in developing countries. She graduated from several leading universities and currently co-leads research on human and animal health at the International Livestock Research Institute based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her research interests include food safety, emerging diseases, gender studies, and animal welfare. Delia Grace’s career has spanned the private sector, field-level community development and aid management, as well as research.
Lindita Molla
PHD Food Safety, WHOLindita Molla has over 17 years of experience at the National Institute of Public Health as an expert in the field of Public Health/Food Safety/AMR in Food Chain. During this time, she has followed the legislative, technical, research, epidemiological and interpretative aspects of food safety issues. Lindita Molla has been a coordinator of several research projects in collaboration with WHO. She has a rich academic level as a lecturer and as an author of different textbooks.
Naoko Yamamoto
ADG, Healthier Populations, WHONaoko Yamamoto was most recently WHO's Assistant Director-General for Universal Health Coverage and Health Systems. Naoko Yamamoto brings nearly 30 years of experience working on health in Japan and served as Senior Assistant Minister for Global Heath in Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. In this capacity, she was heavily involved in Japan’s global health leadership, including hosting and organizing the International Conference on Universal Health Coverage in 2015 and supporting the compilation of the G7 Ise-Shima Vision for Global Health and Kobe Communique of the G7 Health Ministers’ Meeting in 2016, both of which highlighted the importance of promoting universal health coverage.

Máximo Torero Cullen
ADG, Economic and Social Development Department, FAOMaximo Torero is a Peruvian economist. Since January 2019, he has been the Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) Assistant Director General of the Economic and Social Development Department. Between 2016 and 2018, he was Executive Director for Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay at the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C.

Mario Mazzocchi
Professor, Department of Statistical Sciences “Paolo Fortunati”, University of BolognaMario Mazzocchi is professor in Economic Statistics at the University of Bologna. He is co-Editor-in-chief of the journal Food Policy. He is a consultant to FAO on nutrition policies, a member of the scientific board of the Joint Programme Initiative “A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life” and a former member of the EC expert group on the evaluation of the EU School Fruit Scheme.
Erik Wijkström
Counsellor, Division on Trade and Environment, World Trade Organization (WTO)Erik Wijkström joined the WTO in 1995. He has a broad experience from several areas of trade policy relating to standards and regulations, including agriculture, sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS Agreement), trade and environment, as well as trade and health. He currently heads the team on technical barriers to trade (TBT) within the Trade and Environment Division.
Angela Parry Hanson Kunadu
Lecturer, Department of Nutrition and Food Science, University of GhanaAngela Parry-Hanson Kunadu has both a MSc and an PhD in Food Science from University of Pretoria, South Africa, and BSc in Cell Biotechnology from University of Alberta, Canada. She is passionate about food safety. Her research interest is in the food microbiology, particularly application of food safety systems to control bacterial pathogens in foods, microbial adaptation in food and food environments, antimicrobial resistance and microbiological risk assessment.

José Graziano da Silva
Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)José Graziano da Silva has worked on food security, rural development, and agriculture issues for over 30 years, most notably as the architect of Brazil’s Zero Hunger (Fome Zero) programme and now as the Director-General of FAO. He led the team that designed the Zero Hunger programme, and, in 2003, was charged by then-President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to implement the programme as Special Minister of Food Security and the Fight against Hunger.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO)Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was elected as WHO Director-General for a five-year term by WHO Member States at the Seventieth World Health Assembly in May 2017. He is the first WHO Director-General to have been elected from multiple candidates by the World Health Assembly, and is the first person from the WHO African Region to serve as WHO's chief technical and administrative officer.
Roberto Azevêdo
Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO)Roberto Azevêdo is the sixth Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). His appointment took effect on 1 September 2013, for a four-year term. In February 2017, WTO members reappointed him for a second term, which began on 1 September 2017.
Josefa Leonel Correia SACKO
Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture, African Union Commission (AUC)Josefa Leonel Correia Sacko, an Angolan national, is a leading African Agronomist. She was elected as the new Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture of the African Union Commission. Prior to that, she was a Special Adviser to the Minister of Environment of Angola, her home country, where she also served as Ambassador responsible for Climate Change. In the Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Josefa Sacko oversaw Food Security, Eradication of Hunger and Poverty Reduction.
Monique Eloit
Director General, World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE)Monique Eloit was elected Director General of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) on 26 May 2015, by the World Assembly, which brings together the national Delegates of all OIE Member Countries. After having served as Deputy Director General of the OIE for six years, she took over as Director General of the OIE on 1 January 2016. By so doing she became the 7th Director General of the OIE, and the first woman to hold the position.
