Enhancing the monitoring of HIV testing and treatment
Consolidated guidelines on person-centred HIV strategic information: Strengthening routine data for impact

Overview
Person-centred monitoring generates individual level data to monitor the health status of people living with HIV over time and ensure the quality and continuity of HIV testing, early diagnosis and access to treatment and care services as well as supporting integration of services.
The Consolidated guidelines on person-centred HIV strategic information: strengthening routine data for impact consolidate and prioritize a minimum data set and indicators to ensure that key data are collected in a timely manner to enable monitoring of services and improve the use and quality of data.
This policy brief summarizes the WHO guidance on person-centred monitoring of HIV testing and treatment. The guidance provides updates to a standardized, simplified, and integrated approach to patient monitoring, with the aim of optimizing HIV testing and treatment linkages, retention, and clinical outcomes over time.
