Following completion and publication of the WHO Framework, an international workshop was convened at OECD to promote uptake and use of the framework by OECD countries, and to identify needs for further work on combined exposures. The report of the workshop is published in: OECD (2011). WHO OECD ILSI/HESI International Workshop on Risk Assessment of Combined Exposures to Multiple Chemicals, Series on Testing and Assessment No. 140, ENV/JM/MONO(2011)10. OECD, Paris.
The WHO Framework was also considered by the EU Scientific Committees on Health and Environmental Risks (SCHER), on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) and Consumer Safety (SCCS) in forming their opinion on Toxicity and Assessment of Chemical Mixtures in 2011, which included a period of public consultation on their draft opinion. The opinion supported the use of a tiered approach, such as that presented in the WHO Framework.
